The Recipe for the Delicious Boothby Cocktail!
Makes 1 drink
This recipe, adapted from John Burton's version, uses more vermouth than
the Manhattan's standard 3-to-1 ratio, slightly shifting focus away from
the whiskey.
* 2 ounces bourbon
* 1 ounce sweet vermouth
* 1 to 2 dashes Angostura bitters
* 1 ounce Brut Champagne or sparkling wine
* Maraschino or brandy-soaked cherry for garnish
Instructions: Place the bourbon, sweet vermouth and bitters in a mixing
glass. Fill two-thirds with ice, stir and strain into a chilled cocktail
glass. Pour Champagne on top to fill. Add garnish.
Cheers!
